Titus 2

1But you, Titus, must teach what agrees with sound teaching.

2Teach the older men to be serious, worthy of respect, and wise, and to be strong in faith, in love, and in patience.

3In the same way, teach the older women to live in a holy way. They must not tell lies about others or drink too much wine. Instead, they must teach what is good.

4Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and their children,

5to be wise and pure, to take care of their homes, to be kind, and to obey their husbands. Then no one can say evil things about the word of God.

6In the same way, encourage the younger men to be wise and self-controlled.

7In everything, you yourself must be an example of doing good. When you teach, be honest and serious.

8Say what is true, so that no one can prove it wrong. Then anyone who is against us will be ashamed, because they have nothing bad to say about us.

9Teach servants to obey their masters and to please them in everything. They must not talk back,

10or steal from them. Instead, they must show that they can be fully trusted. In this way they will make the teaching about God our Saviour beautiful in every way.

11For the grace of God has come to save all people.

12That grace teaches us to say no to sinful living and to the wrong desires of this world, and to live wisely, doing what is right and pleasing to God,

13while we wait for the blessed hope: the glorious coming of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

14Jesus gave Himself for us, to set us free from all sin and to make us His own special people, eager to do good.

15Teach these things. Encourage the people and correct them with full authority. Do not let anyone look down on you.
