Old Testament
Psalms 92
It is good to thank You, O Lord, and to sing and praise to your name, the name of the Most High God.
It is good to sing about your love in the morning and about your faithfulness every night.
It is good to play for you on the ten-stringed instrument and to add the soft sounds of the harp to my praise
Because You, O Lord, have made me happy. I rejoice when I look at all the wonderful things that You have made by your hands. I joyfully sing.
Lord, the things that You have done are great, and the things that You think about are too hard for us to understand.
Ignorant people don’t know what You have done. Fools don’t understand
Sinful people grow like grass and bad people become prosper, but God will destroy them forever.
But, Lord, you will be honored forever.
Lord, all your enemies will be destroyed, and all who do evil will be scattered.
But You have made us as strong as unicorn. You have anointed me with the finest oil.
My eyes will see the defeat of those waiting to attack me. My ears will hear the cries of my evil enemies.
But good and righteous people are like budding palm trees. They are like a cedar tree that grows in Lebanon.
The good people are like trees that grow at the temple. They grow strong in the courtyard of our God.
Even when they are old, they will continue producing fruit like young, healthy trees.
They are there to show everyone that the Lord is good. He is my Rock, and he does no wrong.
