Psalms 19

1The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky shows what God's hands have made.

2Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night they reveal knowledge.

3There is no speech, there are no words, where their voice is not heard.

4Their message goes out through all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has set up a tent for the sun,

5Which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, rejoicing like a champion ready to run a race.

6It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat.

7The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making the simple wise.

8The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

9The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The judgments of the LORD are true and altogether righteous.

10They are more desirable than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey dripping from the comb.

11By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

12Who can understand their own mistakes? Cleanse me from hidden faults.

13Also keep your servant back from willful sins; do not let them rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.

14May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
