1 Chronicles 7

1The sons of Issachar were: Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron — four in all.

2The sons of Tola were: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Jibsam, and Shemuel — heads of their families, descended from Tola. They were brave warriors, and in the time of David they numbered twenty-two thousand six hundred.

3The son of Uzzi was: Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah were: Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah — five in all, all of them leaders.

4With them, listed by their families, were military units numbering thirty-six thousand men, because they had many wives and children.

5Their relatives throughout all the clans of Issachar were brave warriors; all of them listed in the family records numbered eighty-seven thousand.

6The sons of Benjamin were: Bela, Beker, and Jediael — three in all.

7The sons of Bela were: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri — five in all, heads of their families, brave warriors, and listed in the family records as twenty-two thousand thirty-four.

8The sons of Beker were: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these were the sons of Beker.

9Listed by their family records, the heads of their families and brave warriors numbered twenty thousand two hundred.

10The son of Jediael was: Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan were: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.

11All these sons of Jediael, heads of their families, were brave warriors, seventeen thousand two hundred ready to serve in battle.

12Shuppim and Huppim were sons of Ir. Hushim was the son of Aher.

13The sons of Naphtali were: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum — descendants of Bilhah.

14The son of Manasseh through his Aramean concubine was: Asriel. She also bore Makir, the father of Gilead.

15Makir found wives for Huppim and Shuppim. His sister's name was Maakah. The second son was named Zelophehad, and Zelophehad had only daughters.

16Maakah, the wife of Makir, gave birth to a son and named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and Sheresh's sons were Ulam and Rekem.

17The son of Ulam was: Bedan. These were the descendants of Gilead son of Makir, son of Manasseh.

18His sister Hammoleketh gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.

19The sons of Shemida were: Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

20The descendants of Ephraim were: Shuthelah, his son Bered, his son Tahath, his son Eleadah, his son Tahath,

21His son Zabad, his son Shuthelah, and also Ezer and Elead, who were killed by the men of Gath, natives of that land, because they came down to steal their livestock.

22Their father Ephraim mourned for them many days, and his relatives came to comfort him.

23Then he slept with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah, because tragedy had struck his family.

24(His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon, and also Uzzen Sheerah.)

25His son was Rephah, then Resheph, then Telah, then Tahan,

26Then Ladan, then Ammihud, then Elishama,

27Then Nun, then Joshua.

28Their lands and settlements included Bethel and its villages, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its villages, as far as Ayyah and its villages.

29Along the borders of Manasseh were Beth Shean and its villages, Taanach and its villages, Megiddo and its villages, and Dor and its villages. The descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived in these places.

30The sons of Asher were: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.

31The sons of Beriah were: Heber and Malkiel, who was the father of Birzaith.

32Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham, and their sister Shua.

33The sons of Japhlet were: Pasak, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were the sons of Japhlet.

34The sons of Shemer were: Ahi, Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.

35The sons of his brother Helem were: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.

36The sons of Zophah were: Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,

37Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera.

38The sons of Jether were: Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.

39The sons of Ulla were: Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.

40All these were descendants of Asher, heads of their families, chosen men, brave warriors, and leaders among the princes. Listed in the family records as fit for military service, they numbered twenty-six thousand.
