Old Testament

Psalms 71

Lord, Your righteousness deliver me and help me escape; Let your ears hears me and save me.

Please Lord, be my Rock, a place where I can hide and be safe. Please say the word so that I will be saved, because You are my Rock, my safe place in the mountains.

My God, please take me away from the people who do wrong, people who are bad and cruel.

Lord God, you are my hope. I have trusted you since I was a young boy.

From the day I was born, I trusted in You and knew that You would help me. You were with me from the day that I came out of my mother’s womb. I want to praise You forever.

You are my source of strength, so I have been an example to others. They see that You are protecting me.

My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long.

Do not throw me away when I get old, do not leave me when I become weak.

My enemies are talking about me. The people who want me to die are making plans against me.

My enemies say, Go get him! God has left him, so there is no one to help him.

O God, please don’t go away or be far from me. My God, please hurry, and come and help me.

I pray that my enemies will be destroyed and be put to ashamed. Let other people mock and dishonor them because they want to hurt.

But I will always trust in God, and I will praise You more and more.

I want to tell other people how God always do what is right and how You have saved me, but it is more than I can tell.

Lord, I will go with your power and tell of the great things that You have done. I will tell them that You are the only One who is righteous.

God, you have taught me since I was a young boy. And to this day I have told people about the wonderful things you do.

I am old and my hair is grey, God please don’t leave me now. I must tell the next generation about your power and greatness

O God, You do what is right to everyone on earth and in heaven. God, there is no one like You, God you have done great things.

You have given me lots of trouble and bad times God will you please give me new life again? Please bring me back from deep down under the earth.

Please comfort me and make me great again. Psalms 71;22 I will play the harp and praise you. My God, I will sing about your truths. I will play songs on my harp for the Holy One of Israel.

I will rejoice and shout because I am happy. You have saved me and I will sing to You. Psalms 741:24 My tongue will sing about your goodness all the time, because those who wanted to hurt me have been defeated and disgraced.
