Old Testament
Psalms 68
When God gets up, God will chases away all his enemies and everyone who hates God, they will run away.
God, you chase your enemies and the people who hate you away like the wind that blows smoke away. The people who do wrong will disappear in front of God like wax which melts near a fire.
But the people who live in the right way will be happy. The people who live right will sing to God and rejoice with gladness.
Sing to God, sing and praise his name. Prepare the way for the one who rides on the clouds. His name is Yah. Worship before him with joy.
God is a Father for the orphans and a defender for the widows. God is in his holy place.
God provides homes for those who are lonely. God frees people from prison and makes them happy. But those who turn against him will live in the desert.
O God, when You started walking in front of your people, when You led them through the desert, Paulse and Think
The ground shook and rain poured from the sky when God, the God of Israel, came to Sinai.
O God, You made a lot of rain fall all over the world, and You gave new life to your dry land again. Psalms 68;10 The people who belong to You went to live there. You were good to them, O God. You took care of the people who were suffering.
My Lord gave the command, and many people went to tell the good news:
Kings and their armies have run away and fled. The women divided the plunder that the men had taken and brought it home.
Even those who stayed at home in the fields with the sheep would get some of the treasures that the men had taken in the war, like images of doves that were covered with silver and their wings covered with gold.
When the Almighty God chased the kings away, they were like snow that falls on Mount Zalmon.
Mount Bashan, you are big, and you have a lot of peaks.
Why do you look with envy, mountains with many peaks, At the mountain [of the city of Zion] which God has desired for His dwelling place? Yes, the LORD will dwell there forever.
God has a lot of war-chariots, 20 thousands, God also has thousands of angles coming with them. He comes from Mount Sinai to his holy temple.
Lord, when You went up the high mountain, You took prisoners with You. The people gave You gifts and You accepted them, even from people who had rebelled against You, and You went to stay on the mountain.
We want to praise the Lord. He helps us every day, and He saves us. Paulse and think
He is our God, the God who saves us. My Lord God saves us from death.
God will crush the heads of his enemies, the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
God said, If my enemies run up to Bashan or down to the depths of the sea, I will bring them back.
Then you can put your feet into the enemies blood and your dogs can drink the blood of your enemies.
O God our King, everyone can see how You and everyone with You go to the temple.
The people who sing are walking in front, the people who play music are walking at the back, and the girls who shake the tambourines are walking in the middle.
Praise God where all of you are together in the congregation. The descendants of Israel must praise the Lord.
The leaders of Benjamin, the smallest tribe, are also there. Then the leaders for council came from the tribe of Judah. Then come the leaders of the Zebulun tribe and the leaders of the Naphtali tribe.
O God, show your power and your strength that You have used before to help us.
Kings will bring gifts to You, to your temple in Jerusalem.
Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.
The leaders of Egypt will come. Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands with the offerings of submission to God.
People from all the lands on earth must sing to God, and praise the Lord. Paulse and think
Sing to the Lord who rides through the sky, the heaven that has been there from the beginning. Listen, He speaks loudly, Listen to his powerful voice!.
You must sing about the power of God, He who is King of Israel. He shows his power everywhere, and also in the sky.
O God, You are amazing when You are in your temple. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people, and He makes them strong.
