Psalms 3

1LORD, how many are my enemies! How many rise up against me!

2Many say about me: God will not save that person. Pause and think.

3But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head high.

4I cried out to the LORD with my voice, and the LORD answered me from his holy hill. Pause and think.

5I lay down and slept; I woke up again, because the LORD sustained me.

6I will not be afraid of thousands of people who have surrounded me on every side.

7Rise up, LORD! Save me, my God! Because you have struck all my enemies on the cheek; you have broken the teeth of the wicked.

8Salvation belongs to the LORD; may your blessing be on your people. Pause and think.
