Old Testament

Psalms 104

Praise the LORD, my soul! O LORD, my God, how great you are! You are clothed with majesty and glory;

Lord, You wear light like a robe. Lord, You spread out the skies like a curtain

Lord, you built your home on the waters above. Lord, You use the clouds as your chariot and ride on the wings of the wind.

Lord, you make the winds your messengers, flames of fire your servants.

Lord, You built the earth on its foundations, so it can never be moved.

Lord, You placed the ocean over it like clothes, and the water covered the mountains.

When you rebuked the waters, they fled; the water rushed away when they heard your shout of command.

The waters flowed over the mountains and into the valleys, to the place you had made for them.

Lord, You set a boundary they can never pass, to keep the waters from covering the earth again.

Lord, You make springs flow in the valleys, and rivers run between the hills.

The springs provide water for the wild animals; here the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

Wild birds come to live by the pools; the birds sing in the branches of nearby trees.

From the sky Lord, you send rain on the hills, and The earth gets everything it needs from what you have made.

Lord, You make grass grow for the cattle and Lord, You provide plants for the crops we grow. The plants that give us food from the earth.

Lord, you give us the wine that makes us happy, the oil that makes our faces to shine, and the food that makes us strong.

The cedars of Lebanon which the LORD planted are full of sap

There the birds build their nests; the stork’s home is in the fir trees.

The high mountains are a home for wild goats. The large rocks are hiding places for rock badgers.

Lord, You created the moon to mark the seasons: the sun knows the time to go down

Lord, You made the night, and in the darkness all the wild animals come out.

The young lions roar while they hunt, looking for the food, that God provides.

When the sun rises, they go back and lie down in their dens.

Then people go out to do their work and keep working until evening

LORD, you have made so many things! How wisely you made them all! The earth is filled with your creatures.

There is the ocean, large and wide where countless creatures live, large and small alike.

Ships sail over the ocean, and playing there is Leviathan, the great sea creature you made.

They all wait for You To give them their food in its appointed season.

You give it to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are filled and satisfied with good things.

When you turn away, they are afraid; when you take away your breath, they die and go back to the dust from which they came.

But when you give them breath, they are created; you give new life to the earth.

The glory of the LORD will last forever! The LORD will be glad about what he has made!

The Lord looks at the earth, and the earth trembles; The Lord touches the mountains, and smoke rises from them.

I will sing to the Lord for the rest of my life. I will sing praises to my God as long as I live.

May my meditation be pleasing to the: Lord; I will rejoice in the Lord.

May sinners be destroyed from the earth; may the wicked be no more. Praise the LORD, my soul! Praise the LORD!
